My Interests are: Amateur Radio Antennas Propagation Computers Early Radio History Early Radio Technology Submarine Cable Operation INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR RADIO UNION Every licensed amateur should therefore be a member of, and support his or her national society. It is very expensive to keep track of all parties interested in our frequencies so it is up to us to help by becoming a member of our national society which also supports and pays dues to the IARU . These dues are based on the total number of amateurs in the country and not just those who are members of the national society. Therefore if you are not a member of your national society, other amateurs have to pay your share. Be part of the solution and not the problem. A list of national societies can be found here. Canada's national society is: RADIO AMATEURS OF CANADAIt is the national amateur radio society for Canada and is the Canadian member of the IARU. All Canadian amateurs should be a member of RAC. ![]() This picture was taken at the 2000 ARRL Field Day. My Granddaughter Natasha was providing the muscle power to the peddle-generator. The transceiver was my Elecraft K2 running 5 watts. |
